Despite having reached so far in the latest edition of the World Cup, Lionel Messi and the former coach of Argentina, Alfio Basile both believe that the Argentine national football squad aren’t the favorites on winning the upcoming 2015 Copa America tournament which kicks off on June 11.
Alfio Basile won the Copa America in 1991 and in 1993, this was during the time when he was the manager of the Argentine squad but Basile believes that things are getting tougher and it won’t be as easy as it used to be some years ago.
“The opponents are well-matched. One day you can wake up and lose and that’s it, goodbye, you’re out. The Copa America is very difficult; the teams from the continent have become much stronger. Now all the teams, including at World Cups, do well and are of the top level. “For that reason it’s difficult. Now you don’t just win matches because of your name.
